Details

NIAB runs one-day training programmes on certification procedures. The aim of the course is to increase understanding of certification and to save time and money completing applications. The course is delivered by staff with specialist knowledge of seed certification and is of particular benefit to anyone responsible for completing certification documents or involved in the seed certification process and anyone else involved in the seed certification process.

The training covers the 2002 Seed Regulations, all species, focusing on documentation and certification of seed lots, entering crops into the seed certification system, the statutory generation system for seed production (including breeder’s, pre-basic and basic seed), procedures for importing and exporting seed, including the OECD seed scheme for trading seed beyond the European Union and IT developments and applications. Problem solving exercises are also included as part of the course.

We are also able to tailor courses to individual requirements.
