Niab at Cereals 2026

Niab staff at Cereals Crop Plot Day 2026

Niab will once again be showcasing cutting edge plant science and sustainable farming innovation at the 2026 Cereals Event. As part of preparations for the show, various team members from across Niab headed to Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire for the annual Crop Plot Day.

This is a day for all organsiations with demonstration plots to check on their progress, as well as be interviewed by the assorted farming press and the Cereals team themselves. Our own stand featuring over 25 crop species across 130 plots, and just metres from the famous farm shop, is looking good thanks to the hard work of Central Area Manager Shaun Coleman. Shaun oversees many of the plots on the site and is assisted by Niab’s Eastern and Southern trials teams.

The plots on our stand and the neighbouring soil hole all back up the information you’ll gain from talking to our knowledgeable staff if you visit the event on 11-12 June. You’ll gain access to new insights in variety choice, independent agronomy, soil and rotation management, crop genetics and data science, and see more how Niab is bridging scientific discovery with practical on farm application.

Back to the Crop Plot Day and this year, Soil & Farming Systems Specialist David Clarke and IPM & Crop Protection Specialist Aoife O'Driscoll were in front of the Cereals cameras, before they, Shaun and Head of Communications Ros Lloyd were videoed by Niab's own cameras. Also pictured above are Events Officer Phoebe Watson and Digital Communications Officer Kevin Middleton.
