Dr Tom Passey

Tom leads the research support team for the pathology group at East Malling, taking the lead in the day-to-day delivery of project and trials work to deliver impactful research with a high level of integrity. Tom has worked on multiple research projects and commercial trials investigating the main disease issues facing the UK fruit industry and completed a PhD in 2019 on the subject of apple scab. His skills range from lab-based microbiology and use of molecular techniques through to field-based trialling and assessment.
