This publication features nearly 450 vegetable and potato varieties suitable for organic production. The booklet includes varieties that have given the best performance in terms of quality, yield and disease resistance on approved organic farms and are available as organic or untreated seed. 21 crops in all are featured: beetroot, broad beans broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, celeriac, kale, leeks, lettuce, onions, oriental vegetables, parsnips, potatoes radish, swedes, sweet corn, turnips and winter squash. There is a table for each crop group, summarising variety characteristics, together with a description of each variety. The trial work is funded by Defra.
