Cambridge

NIAB's headquarters is based at Lawrence Weaver Road in Cambridge, opened in early 2020 on NIAB's original Old Granary site. The site include offices, laboratories, growth room facilities and meeting rooms, improving and modernising the previous facilities at Huntingdon Road, plus a welcoming spacious reception atrium.  The NIAB Seed Handling Unit (SHU) is located on the farm site on Whitehouse Lane, behind the HQ.

Park Farm

NIAB's Park Farm site is near Histon outside Cambridge. The research station is home to The MacLeod Complex, our state-of-the-art glasshouses, outdoor ornamental growing facilities and variety and agronomy demonstration area alongside The Sophi Taylor Building, our BREEAM award-winning conference centre and Barn 1 - The Powell Building and Barn 2 - The Barsby Building, opened in 2019, which include research laboratories and offices, crop and seed cold storage facilities, and analytical services laboratories, alongside the Barn4 business hub.

East Malling

Based on the 200+ ha original site of the East Malling and Wye Fruit Experimental Station, near Maidstone in Kent, NIAB's East Malling site includes offices, laboratories, field and glasshouse facilities, alongside research, trials and commercial horticultural and arable land. It is also used as a centre for our arable members with field trials and demonstrations.

Regional Centres

There are 10 regional trials centres across the UK alongside numerous satellite trials sites.

Hasse Fen

Based near Soham in Cambridgeshire the Hasse Fen site, which specialises in crop waste research, includes a fully equipped laboratory, meeting room, office, field lab, and plenty of outdoor parking.
