NIAB is a leading UK centre for plant science, crop evaluation and agronomy, delivering work from its regional network and headquarters in Cambridge. 

Our field crop research and impartial information is used widely by the agricultural and horticultural community.

We are seeking a conscientious and enthusiastic person to major on our complex spraying operations, you will also be required carry out a range of work activities required from our trials services team based at our Headquarters in Cambridge which is predominantly arable based.

You will be using a range of bespoke trials and commercial equipment and expected to operate machinery that may use Trimble RTK GPS to carry out a range of tasks such as cultivations, drilling, irrigation, agrochemical application, harvesting and associated activities such as field recording, soil assessments, pruning and general duties, some of which can be physically demanding on
commercial cropping and trial plots. 

Applicants should enjoy carrying out a range of tasks; have a good standard of education and a full driving licence.  Agrochemical application certificates are a requirement of the roles as is holding CPC’s for Forklift and Tractor driving although if not held you will be expected to undertake training to obtain these. Working paid overtime is expected as is working with other teams across the regional Centre network which will occasionally involve staying away from home.
