A position is available for a conscientious, enthusiastic individual to join a dynamic team of scientists within the Centre for Genetics and Breeding at NIAB, Cambridge. Primarily field based, you will support the delivery of projects across the group, co-ordinating field and glasshouse experiments. You will be responsible for collecting accurate data, co-ordinating post-harvest processing of grain samples and the day-to-day management of casual staff. You will deliver high quality, curated datasets to project leaders and assist in dissemination of results through involvement in project meetings, outreach activities and publications.
You will have a Degree in biological or plant sciences, and experience of field trials and working with cereals, ideally in a scientific or research-based organisation. You will also have experience in the use of Microsoft Office, and excellent organisational and communication skills. You will be able to work independently and reliably, across multiple projects, and to use your initiative. A full driving licence is required.
Starting salary is in the range of £21,246 to £23,607 pa, depending on qualifications, skills and experience.
