NIAB is a leading UK centre for plant science, crop evaluation and agronomy, with a regional network and headquarters in Cambridge. A new post has arisen for a motivated and experienced IT Support Engineer with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

You will work in a team responsible for the configuration and maintenance of the high performance computing (HPC) platform at NIAB and NIAB EMR in Kent. You will also engage with HPC users to support the configuration and deployment of hardware and scientific software.

To be successful, you will need a demonstrable track record in a role as a Support Engineer for a large organisation, ideally in the life-science sector.

In addition, you should have working knowledge and in-depth experience of Unix\Linux systems administration including infrastructure monitoring, automation & scripting and enterprise level high availability and clustering. You will also maintain other NIAB Linux based systems and perform basic Windows administration tasks.
