1.Funded by DEFRA. Project OF0346 “The assessment of vegetable and potato varieties in organic growing systems”. This has been running since 1991 and each year tests varieties available as organic or untreated seed on approved organic sites. Nine crops and 14 trials are covered annually in this project. Results are available through the NIAB “Vegetable Associate Scheme (VAS) and on the Centre for Organic Information (COSI) web site www.cosi.org.uk

7. National Variety Demonstrations NIAB drill the national
   carrot demonstration for the British carrot growers Association (BCGA) and organise
