Research interests
  • Phylogeography of European barley landraces
  • Investigation of geographic structure in barley genotypes.
  • Using geographic structures in genotype data for candidate genes for adaptive traits to describe the dispersal of cereal agriculture into Europe during the Neolithic.

  • Separation techniques-gel electrophoresis, capillary electrophoresis, gas chromatography high pressure liquid chromatography.
  • Variety identification by protein electrophoresis and DNA genotyping.
  • Management of Distinctness, Uniformity and Stability (DUS) reference collections  using laboratory based genotyping techniques
