Comparative Genomics

We are interested in using fully sequenced plant genomes as surrogate models of gene content in order to accelerate trait isolation strategies in crop species where genomic resources are not highly developed. This has led us, as part of the EU FP6 Grain Legumes Integrated Project to undertake an evaluation of genome-wide levels of microsynteny between Phaseolus vulgaris and the model legume species Medicago and Lotus.
