Disease Resistance and Pathogen Characterisation

Varietial disease resistance traits are annually evaluated for all the principle diseases of the major arable crops.

Using a mixture of approaches from small pot growth room screening experiments to full field trials the innate resistance of breeding lines and new commercial varieties are quantified and rated in comparison to established control cultivars.

This work is funded by a diverse range of sources including government agencies, levy boards, research councils, corporate organisations.
