I am a plant molecular biologist with an interest in the underlying mechanisms of disease resistance in plants.

I completed my PhD on the genetic basis of disease resistance to the Downy Mildew pathogen (Hyaloperonospora parasitica) in 2002 at Horticulture Research International (now Warwick-HRI). Following this I was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Manchester investigating programmed cell death in plants in response to stress.

I am putting my molecular skills to use by developing additional PCR-based diagnostic tests for NIAB. This will result in efficient and rapid services for our customers.

Our aim is to run a highly effective service for the identification of crop plant pathogens using a range of laboratory techniques.
