Our approach to Twitter

The corporate (@niabtag, @emrcomms, @artstraining, @innovationfarm1 and @InnovationHub1) Twitter accounts are managed by the NIAB Communications team and key project staff, on behalf of the wider NIAB community.

We post content that adds value to our followers and that promotes NIAB, our people, products and services. If you follow us, you can expect tweets covering a range of subjects such as:

  • News, announcements and media coverage

  • Vacancies

  • Links to employee content such as blogs, visits, on farm initiatives,  glasshouse and lab activities and project updates to name a few

  • Open events and training days

  • Agronomic / technical updates

  • Invitations to provide feedback

  • Videos and online content

We update and monitor our Twitter account from 08:30-17:00, Monday to Friday and on an ad hoc basis over evenings and weekends.

We do not automatically follow new followers, and being followed back does not imply endorsement of any kind.

@Replies and direct messages

NIAB supports collaboration and we actively engage in conversation with other Twitter users. We cannot however guarantee to reply to all messages, although we will engage in conversation wherever possible.

All @Replies and Direct Messages are read and will be passed on to the appropriate party to offer them the opportunity to engage.

Our use of Twitter offers an immediate way of connecting with us, but is an addition to our other contact details, which should be considered the route for official correspondence.
