Based at Cambridge, Hamish is responsible for the delivery of the statutory seed certification programme that NIAB conducts on behalf of APHA. This includes the administration, set-up and management of certification plots for all cereal and oilseed crop species, and the organisation of official crop inspections and training courses for crop inspectors and other interested parties.
Prior to joining NIAB Hamish worked in the New Zealand seed industry as an agronomist for Agriseeds (Barenbrug), and more recently PGG Wrightson Seeds. During this time he managed multiple research and development programmes evaluating brassica and pasture cultivars, seed treatments, herbicide treatments and silage maize hybrids across both New Zealand and Australia.
