Working at NIAB

NIAB is situated about a mile from the historic and culturally rich centre of Cambridge city. The city has many great cafes and pubs, unique shops and markets and of course the Cambridge colleges. Alongside usual leisure activities Cambridge offers extensive programmes of theatre, music, art, and comedy making for rich options. The river Cam with its age old tradition of punting and the open spaces of the Cambridge Commons provide extensive green spaces at the heart of the city. Childcare providers and schools in the area are well-regarded and with flat terrain, bicycles are a popular and cheap mode of transport into and around the city.

Cambridge is well-connected to the major road routes and central London is only a 50 minute train journey away. All the London airports are easily accessed. The cathedral city of Ely is close by and the Norfolk broads and coast make popular weekend destinations.

Aside from our Cambridge location, the benefits of working at NIAB are many.

Leave allowances are most competitive. A stakeholder pension to which NIAB contributes is available and includes life assurance cover. In addition this is a generous group income protection scheme. Childcare and eye care voucher schemes are in operation. Flexitime is available to many staff members and requests for flexible working arrangements and support for further education are always considered with care.

We have extensive free car parking and staff club facilities on site that include a badminton court, squash court, various sporting teams and a bar and restaurant.
